Happy Mother’s Day

Moms and dads. Yes it takes two to make a child but moms are very special. They bear us into the world. A task that we dads can never truly understand.

Today's world is much different than when I came on-board. Dad was the breadwinner while mom stayed home with the kids. Today our roles are often reversed and many couples share roles equally – which I am a fan of.

My grandfather had eight beautiful girls to deal with and he did an awesome job! God bless him for that.

In 1957 four of the girls, and families, came to where the streets were paved with gold – supposedly – California.

This Mother's Day there are only two of the eight sisters with us as one passed earlier this year.

My mom has been gone a number of years now but thoughts of her, her smile and food often are inseparable, which is the way I prefer it. Funny how important a part food plays in our family memories is it not, especially for us Italians. If I know my mom and her sisters are up there serving ravioli to all. Many a ravioli making party was had in days past!

Thank You‘ mom for everything you were and all you did. I hope Larry and I were not too much of a pain in the ass for you and dad!

A Mother's Love
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.
