Happy And Bountiful Thanksgiving *

Yes, yes don’t look at me that way – I admit I’m the one who stole a piece of the Thanksgiving pumpkin pie. After all someone had to test the darn thing to make sure it was edible – and It Is :-). Besides try as I might that amazing fragrance just got to me…

We can always find something to be thankful for, and there may be reasons why we ought to be thankful for even those dispensations which appear dark and frowning. Albert Barnes

My mom and dad passed on long ago but I am thankful for the way they raised me. To do the right thing whenever possible and to never knowingly cause harm to another. Then he would tell us about something mom did when she was younger. Funny how mom stopped correcting us :-). Thank you gramps.

I am thankful for my godmother who is a nun and one of my teachers in the early school years. And for all the rest of my family members, including those no longer with us.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be living in this the greatest country – even tho we have much to learn about ourselves and our leadership role in this troubled world.

I am thankful for the education I’ve had over the years and for all those whose path I have crossed throughout the years.

I am thankful for the many friends I have known.

I am thankful for much more than what I’ve shown in this brief note.

Bob, Where Have You Been?

Just an update

It’s been some six plus months since my stroke and it’s definitely a struggle for me. Much more so than my episode three years ago. Still. I arise every morning, thankful for another day with the hope it will be better than yesterday but not as good tomorrow will be!

On September 11 I suffered a stroke. This took me out of commission for five + weeks – which were spent mostly in El Camino Hospital’s Rehabilitation center!

Now I am getting therapy at home, which will last about another week. Then, hopefully, it’s on to out-patient therapy – for I don’t know how long…

Since both my right and let side are effected it’s not easy to type so I need to look at something else to accomplish what I want – “The Dragon” maybe…

Strokes are a major life changing event. Every year, more than 795,000 people in the United States have a stroke and some 130,000 Americans each year will die — that’s 1 out of every 19 deaths. http://www.cdc.gov/stroke/facts.htm
